I mentioned a while back the opportunity to buy a Minolta 7000 SLR. Well, I took the plunge and got it along with a 50mm, a 28-70mm and a 70-210mm lens. I've started playing around with it... I'm in the process of working my way through a film right now. But this is all very new to me, having only used compacts previously. I've think I've sussed out what each of the lenses is capable of and I've worked out how each of the functions works on the camera but words like "exposure" scare me. I know what it means, I know what "shutter speed" and "aperture" and "depth of field" all mean, but it seems to me that you need to know what a hell of a lot of different numbers do and my eyes start to glaze over when I try to understand it all. Hi there, I am working on a script (Uitzendinggemist) that allows the playback of Dutch TV programms. They are streamed from some servers (not live). Now I found out that after pausing a stream in XBMC, the stream continues, but then after a couple of seconds it just stops. If I restart the stream and try to fast forward, it just freezes/pauses saying: "Buffering", at the bottom of the screen and then XBMC either freezes or I have to un-pause it to continue. So I cannot really fast-forward or jump to a specific moment in the stream. If I play the same stream on my PC, I can very easily jump around in the file (large jumps require to re-fill the cache). I have two servers, one is a SQL server (2 gigs ram, running SQL Svr 2K) and a web server with 1 gig ram, both of which are Win2K Adv Server. I have a Canon 50mm 1.8, I was shooting outside yesterday and noticed whenever I put it on aperture mode and selected f1.8 it was always over exposed.
